In order to associate the young generation with the Indian culture which is the epitome of unity in diversity and to strengthen the idea of all over development of the students , DAV Patiala organized ‘Food Panaroma ’ in its premises , this mega event was laid with the motive of enhancing culinary skills of almost 500 students of classes IX, X ,the young ignited minds  not only prepared and displayed dishes from different states of India such as Punjab, Kerala, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Rajasthan but they also prepared number of cuisines from the countries such as Italy ,France, Canada, Spain, America, China, Singapore.

The programme commenced with the lightening of ceremonial lamp of knowledge amidst the Vedic Mantras in the presence of Principal S.R Prabhakar, Ms. Saroj Prabhakar (Guest of honor), judges and staff members. The beautifully displayed delicacies gave a tough time to the panel of judges including Dr. Rachna Kaura (Dietician from Amar Hospital), Ms. Kamalpreet Kaur ( Home science teacher from BDPS),Ms. Shefali Gupta (Owner of Ist organic Bakery in Patiala ), Ms . Prabhjot Kaur (Food and nutrition department Govt Women college) ,Ms . Manju Kathuria ( Ex DAV teacher ), Ms . Shubrika ( House wife) The food prepared by the students also stimulated the taste buds of the present gathering.

The results of the competition are as follows :-

Amongst the States- Kochi Express from Kerala stood 1st , Mittran da dhaba got 2nd position, Goa Safari stood 3rd whereas Royal Rajasthan settled with consolation.

Amongst the International – 1st position was coveted on Canada Foodies, 2nd position was taken by China Bites and 3rd position was shared by American Angels and Proud India whereas consolation prize was taken by The Little red Dot - Singapore.

Principal S. R. Prabhakar while appreciating the students and parents for their cooperation in organizing such venture quoted “To accustomise the students with Indian culture which is the most enriched culture of the world where each state is enrolled with its own tradition and food and to give an exposure and platform to the students to explore the global village, Food Panaroma has been organized. This event is the perfect podium to augment and escalate the hidden potentials of the creative young minds” He also congratulated Ms. Shaveta Anand, Ms. Akanksha Garg (House In charge) and Ms. Kirandeep Bawa for their notable contribution in making the venture a great success.
