Blood Donation is service to humankind to serve the motive and to commemorate 132nd DAV Foundation Day, today Arya Yuva Samaj of DAV Public School, Bhupindra Road, Patiala in collaboration with State Bank of India and Patiala Social Welfare Society during which parents and teachers enthusiastically participated and donate 102 units of blood.
Dr. Balwinder Singh, Civil Surgeon graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Ms. Nishi Bhatnagar, DGM State Bank of India graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour for the event. The occasion was also attended by Mr. Rajesh Gupta AGM -SBI, Mr. Ashutosh Kumar, Chief Manager-SBI. Mr. Jatinder Grewal popularly known as ‘Star Donor’ proved to be the Eye Catcher of everyone since he donated the blood for many times. Mr. Rajpal, Income Tax Officer also acted as one of the donors for today’s event
While appreciating DAV’s efforts towards social causes Dr. Balwinder Singh quoted, “DAV Institutions are the perfect epitome to be witnessed by the society. They not only inculcate moral values in the students, but they also pour the empathy and affection towards society. This venture of organizing Blood Donation is the reflection of their selfless sacrifice towards mankind.
Offg. Principal Mrs. Neera Khurana warmly welcomed the guests of the day by presenting them bouquet of flowers. She further expressed her gratitude towards all the donors and quoted that, “the finest gesture one can make is to save life by donating blood, it gives someone another chance at life, a life may depend on a gesture from us”. She further pleaded that such endeavours should be organised more and more, she further expressed her happiness on the overwhelming response of the parents on the success of this noble cause. The venture was organized and accomplished under the team from Rajindra Hospital comprising Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Mr. Satpal Singh, Ms. Satwinder Kaur, Mr. Dara Singh, Mr. Maya Ram, Mr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Harish Malhotra, Asstt. Civil Surgeon, Sh. Vijay Kumar Goel, President Patiala Social Welfare Society and Mr. Kamal Gupta, Finance Secretary, PSWS were also present on the occasion.
To mark the day, a chabeel was also organized to give relief to hundreds of people from the scorching heat. The program concluded with the presentation of mementoes and certificates of appreciation to the donors and to the team from the school who whole heartedly contributed in making today’s event a great success.
