Donating blood is synonyms to giving life with this motive and to commemorate 131st DAV Foundation Day today Arya Yuva Samaj of DAV Public School, Bhupindra Road, Patiala in collaboration with State Bank of Patiala during which parents and teachers enthusiastically participated and donated 101 units of blood.
Mr. Davinder Singh, who donated blood for 56th time grabbed everyone’s attention. Mr. Navdeep Sood (AGM, State Bank of Patiala, Bhupindra Nagar Branch) graced the occasions as ‘Chief Guest’. The occasion was also graced by O. P. Gupta (Chief Manager, SBOP). Col. Bishan Das (President Global Human Service Organization), Sh. Surinder Singh, Sh. A. S. Sandhu, Dr. N. D. Mittal, Prof. Moudgill, Smt. Saroj Prabhakar.
While appreciating DAV effort towards social concern, Mr. Navdeep Sood quoted, “DAV institutions are known as protagonists of social affairs. They not only inculcate moral values in the students but they also pour the empathy and affection towards society. This venture of organizing blood donation is the reflection of their selfless sacrifice towards mankind.”
Principal S.R. Prabhakar warmly welcomed the Guests of the Day by presenting them bouquet of flowers. He further expressed his gratitude towards all the donors and quoted that, “The finest gesture one can make is to save life by donating blood, as it has the power to save us. He further pleaded that such kind of venture should be organised more and more. He requested the donors to keep up their high spirit of participating in such kind of social concerns. The endeavour was organised and accomplished under able guidance of the team from Rajindra Hospital comprising Dr. Jaspreet, Dr. Sukhvinder, Dr. Baljeet Kaur, Dr. Gurmeet Singh and their team. To mark the day, a Chabeel was also organised to give relief to the hundreds of people from the scroaching heat. The programme concluded with the presentation of Mementoes & Certificates of Appreciation to the donors and to the team from the school which whole heartedly contributed in making today’s event a great success.
