DAV Patiala organises 2 Days- Model United Nation 2023 Conference

To give ample opportunities, exposure to young delegates for public speaking, debating on International current topics, DAV MUN 2023 kick started with great enthusiasm and ebullience in its premises. The mega two days event witnessed as many as 303 delegates from different schools of Patiala, Nabha, Samana, Rajpura, Chandigarh. Principal Vivek Tiwari along with social science department gave hearty welcome to the distinguished Chief Guest Hon'ble Ambassador Dr. Deepak Vohra (Special advisor to South Sudan, Guinea- Bissau and Lesotho and to the Ladakh Autonomous councils in Kargil & Leh). The programme started with ceremonial lightning of lamp of knowledge followed by DAV Anthem. The programme was embellished with impeccable dance and singing performance.

 Chief Guest of the day Hon'ble Dr. Deepak Vohra (Ambassador) while addressing the delegates and staff motivated the delegates to utilize their precious time in the best way and transform the facilities provided them into the instruments. He further inspired them to focus on positive actions in their upliftment.

Later executive members of committees UNGA, AIPPM, UNCSW, UNHCR, UNSC put emphasis on various global issues.

UNGA:- Best delegate- Zara Basur (United Kingdom)

UNHCR:-  Best delegate- Angel Gupta (Armenia)

AIPPM:- Best Delegate – Japjot Kaur (Asaduddin Owaisi)

UNCSW:- Best Delegate – Arshya (Thailand)

UNSC:- Best Delegate – Aryaman Gupta (Russia)

Best Performance:- DAV Public School, Bhupindra Road, Patiala

Best Delegation:- (45 Delegates) Kaintal School, Patiala

Principal Vivek Tiwari congratulated all the delegates and applauded the efforts made by Social Science department under the guidance of Mrs. Geeta Sharma HOD. He further quoted that such kind of activities are highly significant for the overall growth of the youth, hence they should be actively participated by the young minds in optimum number. He further highlighted that MUN is the right platform to display their knacks, exposures through these events. The finale item a foot tapping Bhangra compelled everyone to tap their feet.
