DAV Patiala today concludes a month long performance of Havan Yajna by organising Shravani Upakram Samapan Samaroh on 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand ji in its school  premises.

 The social aspect of Shravani festival was to guide the students and to enrich the religious sentiments by recitation of Vedic mantras. During this special day the school ground was  adorned  by 51 kunds  wherein as many as 200 students of classes 5th 6th and 7th along with their teachers duly attended the vedic hawan. The main Hawan Yajna was graced by Dr .Ramesh Puri,
Mr Raj Kumar Singla ,Dr.B.S Verma,,Mr.Vijay Goyal.,Mr.Raj Kumar Sharma,Mr.Devinder Gupta  ,Mr Chuni lal Dhawan .Mr.Rakesh Malhotra,Mr.Rakesh Goyal,Mr.Vishal Mittal,Mr.Sagar Sood,Mr Parmod Kumar Bansal,Mr.Anil Goyal and Mrs.Meenu Gupta  the eminent Arya Samajists  and social workers of the city . To make the event more special, as many as 500 saplings of basil plants and pamphlets highlighting the benefits of Tulsi (The queen of herbs) were distributed to staff and students under the guidance of  Mrs. Madhu Khana(Eco club incharge).

 The vibration of the Sanskrit verses  in the ears of the audience   was not less than a therapy that bestows peace, leaving one feeling refreshed. The celebration was embellished by melodious bhajan 'Na Koi Sathi Sakha Sahela' presented by Mrs Rajneet,Mr Rahul ,Mr Rajat and a team of students.
Around 200 students were trained by Mrs Swaraj about Havan which aims at refinement of subtle energy existing in matter and enchantment of vedic mantras to bring about  the  purification and healing of individuals.
The celebration ended with the distribution of Langar.

Principal  Vivek Tiwari thanked the guests and quoted that even in this modern age, DAV has not forgotten India's rich culture for the spiritual growth of the students and to inculcate the sensitivity, sensibility and affection towards each other. He further  added that the auspicious ritual of Havan is performed to purify the environment by eliminating negative energies. He acquainted everyone that DAV Institutions not only impart education to the students along with it, these institutions also help to produce bright, compassionate, patriotic and responsible global citizens. Being part of the Pious Havan  everyone experienced   divine contentment and  happiness.
