To celebrate the literary prowess of William Shakespeare- the greatest dramatist of all times, a week-long celebration- Shakespeare Fest 2023 was organized at DAV Public School which witnessed a mammoth participation of 500 students. The fest concluded on Monday, May 1, 2023 after celebrating a myriad of activities.

To apprise the students about the sea of vocabulary Shakespeare has gifted to the world of English language, a Spell Bee competition for the students of Class VIII was organized dedicated to the Bard of Avon. A poem presentation by the students of Class IX was mesmerizing indeed. The finale of the fest witnessed staging of the famous play of Shakespeare- ‘The Merchant of Venice’ by the  budding actors of Class X which enthralled the audience and reminded them how the plots of his work continue to inspire ceaseless adaptations and spin-offs.

Principal Vivek Tiwari lauded the efforts of Ms Deep Shikha and Ms Dhanjit Kaur, Curriculum In-charges along with the members of English faculty for putting up a great event. While congratulating the participants and the winners, he stated that though this week marks 400 years since the birth of the greatest writer of all times, yet his characters, the worlds he created, the thoughts he expressed are for all people and all time. Every generation continues to be in his debt. He concluded by saying that his contribtution is unmatchable and the event has been the greatest tribute DAV school has paid to Shakespeare’s genius and natural talent
