To commemorate the Birth and Death Anniversary of the greatest poet, the most-celebrated playwright ‘William Shakespeare’ a mega fest commenced with verve at DAV, Patiala today. The Literary Fest began with International collaboration with Chonghe Elementary School in Taiwan, under the able guidance of Ms. Dhanjeet.Students of Chongle Elementary School,Taiwan enjoyed the informative presentation by the students of class VI and VII based on
famous characters  of Shakespeare . Teacher Angel Huang appreciated the stupendous performance of the students .

 An overwhelming response was observed by the students of Classes 5th in a Quotation Writing Activity which was based on life and famous works of Shakespeare. The students wrote quotations in aesthetically beautiful handwriting. The audience was spellbound when  Class IV students presented poems in their mellifluous voice in the Poetry Recitation Competition on the themes- Nature, Mother, Patriotism.In this competition Ibham Singla,Taani,Navkit,Brahmleen and Sargun bagged first position where was
Alisha, Saarth, Rimsha, Yashsvi and Satjot were declared first runner . For class III Calligraphy Competition was conducted , in which the students wrote beautiful strokes of English Script. Enayat, Sharaya, Miksha, Roohbani and Mahi secured first position in this competition.
Know Thy Shakespeare' a presentation on Shakespeare's life and works by 20 students of XI and XII stole the show. This presentation imparted the information on works like Midsummer's night dream, As you like, Sonnets, Julius Ceasar  .
Principal Vivek Tiwaari lauded the efforts of the Ms Deep Shikha( HOD)  and Faculty for organizing such worthwhile and significant activities. He further quoted “Shakespeare was not for an age but for all time”. While highlighting his unmatchable contribution he said that though Shakespeare himself wasn’t a University graduate in English but none can become a University graduate in English without reading him.
