'We all should be friends to Earth' were the key words of Principal Vivek Tiwari on the occasion of World Earth Day .To demonstrate support for environmental protection, today DAV Public school, Patiala organized World Earth Day in its premises . Motive of celebrating this day was to inspire awareness and appreciation for earth's environment among the young generation.

A plethora of activities were  conducted to mark this day. All activities very meaningfully highlighted  the theme of Earth Day-2023'Invest  in our  planet'. The corridors of the pre primary were echoing with the message 'Protect Mother Earth'. Today's celebrations commenced with  stupendous poem presentation on  the topic Save Earth.Fancy dress competition of class II was indeed a treat for eyes. This event was adjudged by Ms Damanjeet Kaur and Ms.Megha Narang. Navya Sharma of II Rose bagged first position,Arshnoor of II Daisy won second position and Saesha of II Lotus got third position.Students of classes III  enthusiastically participated in Hand Print Activity . For class IV and V 'Crown Making ' activity was conducted.Students wearing crowns and spreading the message to protect the environment were looking like Ambassadors of  Mother Nature.More than 100 students of classes VI and VII participated in Hand Painting Competition on the G20 Theme- One Earth,One Family, One Future 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam'.
Students displayed their knack for art and creativity .  These  events were conducted in the supervision of Ms. Upasna Madaan( Curriculum Incharge) and adjudged by Ms. Meenu Bhalla and Ms. Shaweta Anand.  Bhavika,Taani,Niharika ,Lavish ,Vedant  Rayaansh, Amreen, Mausmi, Ojas Babbar, and Harsirat were declared winners of Crown Activity.Winners of Hand Printing activity are as follows:Charvi ( Artist)- Ridhi (Model) bagged first position in Class - VII category where as in class VI th first position was bagged by Prabhmeet Kaur ( Artist) and Alina Goud (Model) .On this occasion Ms. Madhu Khanna (Curriculum Incharge) gave information to students about importance of green plants , global warning and its effect.       Appreciating the efforts of Science faculty Principal Mr. Vivek Tiwaari said that ‘Our mission should be to create a world where we can live in harmony with nature '. He motivated the students to develop deep concern to save Mother Earth .Today's celebration concluded with the pledge to protect the earth
