Today DAV Public School, Patiala observes “International Women’s Day” with great enthusiasm and verve in its premises. This celebration was loaded with this years’ theme “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow.” The program commenced with warm welcome of the chief guest Anu Tiwari along with Principal Vivek Tiwari. It followed with the welcome note by Ms Asha during which she highlighted the importance of equality between the genders .followed with a Power Point Presentation during which it was depicted that it is a time to reflect on progress made to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women, This presentation was presented by Ms. Arashdeep Joshi.

The program was embellished with number of fun games, which further added more amusement and. While addressing the august gathering of the teachers chief guest Ms Anu Tiwari quoted that International Women’s Day should not only be the day to mark the significance of women, rather everyday should be celebrated as the day of their importance, empowerment. She further said that empowering women is the only way to protect the rights and make sure they can realize their full potential and a way to construct a different world.

Principal Vivek Tiwari also wished everyone on this day during his address he quoted International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. He also remembered the contribution of Maharishi Dayanand in upliftment of women in the society.
