To commemorate the Rishi Bodh Utsav of and to propagate Swami Dayanand Ji’s ideologies which primarily focused against the superstitions prevailing in the society, DAV Public School Patiala celebrated “Rishi Bodh Utsav” with great verve and zeal by organizing a Special Hawan Yajna as a mark of tribute to this legendary saint.

The day was auspicious as it marked the enlightenment which he received on the day of Shivratri, leading to awakening in the society against unfounded beliefs. Later, it was followed with mellifluous bhajans ‘ Chal pada akela woh Dev Dayanand mera ‘presented by Mrs. Rajneet Kaur and melodious singer Vidhi Sharma turned the whole atmosphere pious and serene. Ms. Sonam beautifully depicted the life journey of Maharishi Dayanand in her speech ,  Later Ms Vidhu Kaushik threw light on  the importance of Shivratri .

Principal Vivek Tiwari in his address to the teachers and students highlighted the unmatchable contribution of this profound scholar of the Vedic lore. The students were reminded of his valuable contribution which includes promoting equal rights for women and children, upliftment of the weak and downtrodden section of society. He further highlighted the fact how Swami Ji exhorted the nation to accept social reforms to move out from the tunnel of darkness of Casteism, untouchability and Polygamy to see the light of equality and justice. He focused on the infallible authority of Vedas which is the only torchbearer to remove the flaws of society. He pleaded the students to put in their best effort for accomplishing the dream of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Ji and respond to his clarion call of ‘Back to Vedas.’
