DAV PATIALA OBSERVED WORLD EARTH DAY

To commemorate the 45th anniversary of world earth day DAV Patiala organized a series of events and programmes to drive forward the modern environment movement and with a aim of to engage the students in the mission to better understand and protect our home planet—earth.

To maintain natural resources and to make the students aware about flora and fauna, a colourful fancy dress competition was organized in the morning assembly in which about seven students of classes UKG,I, II. came up in attires of earth, tree, joker, puppet, etc.

To depict the methods of water usage and safety a spectacular skit “Nukar Natak’ was also presented in the assembly in which ten students of classes vii &ix participated whole heartedly under the guidance of Mrs. P. Paul and Mrs. Meenakshi Sharma.

The assembly concluded with a pledge to protect the nature not only today but every day.
To inculcate the habit of converting waste products into creative things, about 53 students of classes 3-5 participated in the best out of waste activities. With the theme of SAVE EARTH a poster making competition was also held for classes 6-8 in which 32 students exhibited their talent through their drawing and colouring.

11 students of senior secondary classes xi-xii also came up in a photo exhibition competition depicting tree plantation, inhibiting deforestation and enhancing energy conservation. The result of activities was as follows

Principal S.R. Prabhakar congratulated the winners of various competitions and gave a message that such type of activities are important to increase awareness among students about environment safety and to motivate them to glow at global level.
